It makes packaged rooftop units in its RQ, RN and RZ series, air handling units in its M2, V3 and H3 series, and heat pump systems that use air, water or the ground as a source. AAON is based in Tulsa, United States.

AAON was founded in 1988 by Norman H. Asbjornson, who bought the heating and air-conditioning division of a company called John Zink.
