Bruce Henderson founded BCG in 1963, as part of the Boston Safe Deposit and Trust Company. It became an independent company in 1979, through an employee stock ownership buyout. As of 2026, BCG employs about 33,500 people, in more than 100 offices across over 50 countries. In 2025, it made $14.4 billion in revenue, its 22nd straight year of growth.
