Brex is a financial operations platform based in San Francisco. It gives businesses corporate cards, expense management, travel booking, bill pay, and banking services, along with cash management accounts and spend management software. It serves more than 35,000 companies.
Brex was founded on January 3, 2017, by Henrique Dubugras and Pedro Franceschi, both 22 at the time. It joined Y Combinator that year, applied for a bank charter in 2021, and took in a surge of deposits during the 2023 SVB banking crisis. Capital One bought Brex for $5.15 billion in April 2026, making it a Capital One subsidiary. That matters: a bank parent now stands behind Brex's banking products.
Currently, there's a total of 294 job openings at Brex. Over the last 30 days, 112 jobs were added and 111 were removed (job postings usually stay up ~67 days before being removed). Historically, the median salary is ~$262,500. Brex is a top-tier H-1B sponsor.1

Notes & sources
- 1. Company description. Written by InterviewOS from Brex's public materials and press coverage; facts are checked against the sources below.
- 2. Weekly counts. A count is the number of listings the pipeline saw for the first time in that week. Weeks begin Monday; the onboarding week is excluded from the scale and every average.
- 3. Live counts. Deduplicated live listings observed daily on Brex's own hiring system; last check September 12, 2026. Stale and syndicated posts on aggregator sites are not counted.
- 4. Posted pay. Ranges extracted from the text of Brex's own listings; a range appears only when the employer printed one. Extraction is still rolling out, so this table can lag the board.
- 5. Federal visa records. USCIS H1B Employer Data Hub and US Department of Labor LCA disclosure files, matched to this company by name.
