Buckeye Partners was founded in 1886 as the Buckeye Pipeline Company, part of John D. Rockefeller's Standard Oil. It traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker BPL from 2006 to 2019. IFM Investors bought the company in 2019 for $10.3 billion. That makes IFM Investors a different kind of owner than the public shareholders who held the stock during its NYSE years.
