Mathematicians and cyber defence experts at Invoke Capital, the firm owned by Mike Lynch, founded Darktrace in 2013. It used to trade on the London Stock Exchange as LSE: DARK, until Thoma Bravo acquired it for $5.3 billion in October 2024, a deal that changed who now sets the company's direction.
