Delta began in 1925 as Huff Daland Dusters, the world's first aerial crop-dusting operation, based in Macon, Georgia. It was incorporated as Delta Air Service on December 3, 1928 and started passenger flights on June 17, 1929. It relocated its headquarters to Atlanta in 1941. The airline operates over 5,400 flights a day across nine major hubs, employs nearly 103,000 people, and has about 17,500 mainline pilots.
