Despegar
101 open jobsGeneral information
Despegar runs an online travel marketplace that serves consumers across Latin America. Through the platform, people can book flights, hotels, package tours, rental cars, bus tickets, cruises, and travel insurance in one place. The company is based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Despegar was founded in 1999 by Roberto Souviron, a Duke University graduate. It went public on the New York Stock Exchange in 2017, then grew through acquisitions: Viajes Falabella in 2019, Best Day Travel Group and Koin in 2020, and Viajanet in 2022. In 2025, Prosus, a unit of the South African group Naspers, bought Despegar for $1.7 billion. By 2024 the company had 3,956 employees and $774.1 million in revenue. The sale means Despegar now answers to a large foreign owner, not to its own public shareholders.
Currently, there's a total of 129 job openings at Despegar. Over the last 30 days, 164 jobs were added and 46 were removed (job postings usually stay up ~12 days before being removed).1
