Euronext runs eight regulated stock exchanges across Europe. Companies list and trade shares, bonds, ETFs, funds, warrants and structured notes on its markets. Its IPOready program helps companies prepare to go public. Euronext also provides clearing and post-trade services. The company is based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Euronext started in 2000, when the Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris exchanges merged. Its roots go back to 1602, when the Amsterdam exchange first opened. No single owner controls it today. French and Italian state investment funds each hold 8.04% of shares; the remaining 74.27% trades freely. About 1,800 companies listed on Euronext as of March 2025, with a combined market value of roughly 6.3 trillion euros. The exchange had 2,455 employees in 2024 and 1.823 billion euros in revenue in 2025. This is where many European companies go to raise money from investors.
