Elevation Partners bought a minority stake in 2006, and Integrated Whale Media Investments bought a majority stake in 2014. Steve Forbes is now chairman and editor-in-chief, and Sherry Phillips became CEO in January 2025. In 2021, the company reported $165 million in revenue. The Forbes family has run the magazine since 1917, even as outside investors bought stakes along the way.
