John D. Bicknell and Walter Trask started the firm in May 1890. It merged with William Ellsworth Dunn's practice in 1903, and took the name Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in 1911. In 2025, the firm made $4.211 billion in revenue. That's a jump from two founding lawyers in 1890 to a firm handling billions of dollars in legal work today.
