General information

Google offers search, Gmail, Google Images, an advertising platform, and business tools. It was founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Google is based in Mountain View, California.

Alphabet Inc. was created as Google's parent holding company on October 2, 2015. It trades on Nasdaq under GOOGL and GOOG, and Page and Brin still hold majority voting control through special share classes. In 2025, Alphabet reported $403 billion in revenue, about 199,000 employees, and $595 billion in total assets. Page and Brin stepped down as executives in December 2019, and in August 2024 a federal court found Alphabet guilty of antitrust violations. That matters because the founders still control the votes even though they no longer run the company day to day.

Currently, there's a total of 3,306 job openings at Google (Alphabet). Over the last 30 days, 4,856 jobs were added and 8,524 were removed (job postings usually stay up ~4 days before being removed). Google (Alphabet) is a top-tier H-1B sponsor.1
