Hilton is an American hospitality company. It manages and franchises hotels, resorts and timeshare properties for travelers and businesses around the world. The company runs a portfolio of 7,530 properties with 1,182,937 rooms in 118 countries. Hilton is based in Arlington, United States.

Conrad Hilton founded the company in 1919, when he bought the Mobley Hotel in Cisco, Texas. Blackstone Group bought Hilton in 2007, in a $26 billion deal. Hilton is now a public company, listed on the New York Stock Exchange as HLT and included in the S&P 500. It employed about 178,000 people in 2023 and made $11.2 billion in revenue in 2024. That means when you book a Hilton hotel, part of the money can flow back to shareholders who own stock in the company.1
