The firm does not manage money for outside clients; it profits from its own trades. Jump Trading is based in Chicago, United States.

Jump Trading was founded in 1999 by Paul Gurinas and Bill Disomma, two former pit traders who met at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. The firm now employs more than 2,000 people, with offices in 13 financial centers, including New York, London and Singapore. That reach lets it trade around the clock, following markets as they open and close across time zones.1
