Monex Europe was founded in 2006 as Schneider Foreign Exchange by Sonny Schneider, Nick Edgeley, Will Tracey, Shelton Fray and Antony North. Mexican financial firm Holding Monex bought the company in July 2012 and renamed it Monex Europe. In 2015, it reported £13.021 billion in currency turnover over nine months. A small British foreign exchange shop became part of a larger Mexican financial group.¹
