R.Q. McEniry bought Standard Welders Supply in 1950. That deal became nexAir. The company merged with Mid-South Oxygen in 1996. nexAir says it has marked 80 years of operations, and now employs specialists such as chemists, engineers and cryogenic technicians across the Southeast. A welding shop supply business grew into a regional gas and technical services company.1
