Its NISC Enterprise System covers billing, accounting and operations, with modules for finance, service, marketing and other business functions. The company serves more than 1,200 member organizations and is based in Lake Saint Louis.
NISC is set up as a cooperative, so its member organizations are also its owners. That structure means the company answers to the rural utilities and communication providers it serves, rather than outside shareholders. It employs more than 1,900 people across five facilities in North Dakota, Missouri, Iowa, Georgia and North Carolina, plus remote staff.
