Parkland is Dallas County's public hospital, described as the foundation for a healthy Dallas. It runs Texas's first certified Level I Trauma Center and a Comprehensive Burn Center that is the only one in North Texas treating both adults and children. The hospital is located at 5200 Harry Hines Boulevard, Dallas, Texas.
Parkland was first established on Maple Avenue in 1894. The current hospital opened in 2015 with 862 beds, and it handles about 240,000 emergency visits and 15-16,000 deliveries a year. Those numbers mean staff work in a high volume trauma and maternity operation that shapes care for the whole county.1
