It combines breach and attack simulation with automated penetration testing to check which vulnerabilities attackers can actually exploit. Its Exposure Validation service tests whether known weaknesses are actually exploitable in a company's systems. Picus Security is based in San Francisco.
Picus Security was founded in 2013 by H. Alper Memiş, Volkan Ertürk, and Süleyman Özarslan. The company is private. Mastercard bought a minority stake in 2022. That link ties one of the world's biggest card networks to Picus, giving the company credibility with banks and other large regulated customers.1
