Its hyperscale facilities support large-scale computing operations, and its federal-grade data centers serve government clients. QTS also offers enterprise colocation, hybrid cloud and managed services. The company runs more than 30 data centers and is based in Overland Park, in the United States.

QTS was established in 2003. In August 2021, it was acquired by entities affiliated with the Blackstone Group for about 10 billion dollars, giving it a large investment firm's backing for building out new sites.1
