Its main product, the Advanced Tactical Augmented Reality System (ATARS), lets pilots practice combat scenarios such as within-visual-range and beyond-visual-range engagements, aerial refueling and large force exercises on demand at any military base, without the cost of traditional flight training.
Red 6 raised $70 million in Series B funding and aims to save billions of dollars a year in training costs while speeding up pilot training and readiness. The company was founded by Daniel Robinson, a former Royal Air Force fighter pilot who flew the F-22 Raptor and now serves as CEO. It keeps offices in Miami and Los Angeles.
