General information

Roblox is an online platform where developers build things that people use. By February 2025, the platform had 85.3 million people using it each day. The company is based in San Mateo, California, in the United States.

David Baszucki and Erik Cassel started building Roblox in 2004, and it launched publicly on September 1, 2006. Roblox went public in March 2021, valued at $45 billion at the IPO. That matters: an IPO that size shows how much value investors placed on a platform used by tens of millions of people every day. Roblox is a top-tier H-1B sponsor.1
