Andy Youniss and Johan Magnusson Gedda founded Rocket Software in Boston in 1990. Bain Capital bought a majority stake in 2018, valuing the company at nearly $2 billion. Rocket then acquired ASG Technologies in 2021, bought OpenText's AMC business for $2.28 billion in 2024, and bought Vertica for $150 million in 2026.
