RTX makes equipment for airplanes and the military. Pratt & Whitney, one of its units, builds aircraft engines. Collins Aerospace, another unit, makes aircraft systems such as EPACS, which manages power and heat on a plane. RTX also makes weapons for the US military, including the Patriot missile system for air defense and the Javelin missile. The company is based in Arlington, Virginia.
RTX formed in 2020, when Raytheon and United Technologies merged. Raytheon itself dated back to 1922. RTX stock trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker RTX and is part of the S&P 500 index.
