Salesforce makes software that helps companies manage their customers. Its main tools, Sales Cloud and Service Cloud, track sales deals and customer support. Commerce Cloud runs online stores. The Salesforce Platform lets developers build their own business apps on top of Salesforce. The company also owns Tableau, which turns data into charts and dashboards, and Slack, the workplace messaging app. Salesforce is based in San Francisco.
Salesforce was founded in 1999 by Marc Benioff, Parker Harris, Dave Moellenhoff and Frank Dominguez. It trades publicly on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker CRM. It bought Tableau in 2019 and Slack in 2021, and both still operate as Salesforce products. By 2026 the company had grown to 83,334 employees, much of that growth coming from buying other software companies rather than building everything in house.
Currently, there's a total of 1,537 job openings at Salesforce. Over the last 30 days, 533 jobs were added and 533 were removed (job postings usually stay up ~5 days before being removed). Historically, the median salary is ~$255,500. Salesforce is a top-tier H-1B sponsor.1

Notes & sources
- 1. Company description. Written by InterviewOS from Salesforce's public materials and press coverage; facts are checked against the sources below.
- 2. Weekly counts. A count is the number of listings the pipeline saw for the first time in that week. Weeks begin Monday; the onboarding week is excluded from the scale and every average.
- 3. Live counts. Deduplicated live listings observed daily on Salesforce's own hiring system; last check September 14, 2026. Stale and syndicated posts on aggregator sites are not counted.
- 4. Posted pay. Ranges extracted from the text of Salesforce's own listings; a range appears only when the employer printed one. Extraction is still rolling out, so this table can lag the board.
- 5. Federal visa records. USCIS H1B Employer Data Hub and US Department of Labor LCA disclosure files, matched to this company by name.
