Skydio
Hiring · 135 open jobsGeneral information
Skydio designs and makes autonomous drones for commercial, government, and military use. Its drone models include the X10, X10D, R10, and F10. Customers have flown Skydio drones more than 5.3 million times. The company is based in San Mateo, United States.
Skydio was founded in 2014 by three MIT graduates who had worked on autonomous drone projects at Google. It stayed private and became a unicorn, valued at more than $1 billion, in March 2021, the first US drone maker-seller to reach that mark. In August 2023 it left the consumer drone market to focus only on military, police, and industrial customers. By November 2024, more than half its revenue came from military customers, mainly the US Department of Defense. That matters: Skydio's future now depends heavily on defense budgets, not consumer sales.
Currently, there's a total of 125 job openings at Skydio. Over the last 30 days, 37 jobs were added and 22 were removed (job postings usually stay up ~66 days before being removed). Historically, the median salary is ~$178,500. Skydio is a top-tier H-1B sponsor.1

- 1. Company description. Written by InterviewOS from Skydio's public materials and press coverage; facts are checked against the sources below.

- 3. Live counts. Deduplicated live listings observed daily on Skydio's own hiring system; last check September 12, 2026. Stale and syndicated posts on aggregator sites are not counted.
