Trafigura is a commodity trading company based in Singapore. It trades crude oil, petroleum products, and natural gas and LNG, and it runs supply chain management, logistics, shipping and terminal operations for those markets. It was founded in 1993 by six partners, including Claude Dauphin and Eric de Turckheim.
Trafigura is wholly owned by about 1,400 of its own employees rather than outside investors. That gives the people who work there a direct stake in how the company performs. It employs about 12,000 people worldwide and reported revenue of $240.3 billion for its 2025 financial year.1
