Alteryx, based in Irvine, California, is a data and analytics company that uses AI to help organizations turn data into insights. Its Alteryx One platform covers data preparation, analytics, and automation and governance.

The company started in March 1997 as SRC, LLC, founded by Dean Stoecker, Olivia Duane Adams, and Ned Harding. It went public on the NYSE as AYX in 2017. In December 2023, Clearlake Capital and Insight Partners agreed to buy it for $4.4 billion, a deal that closed in March 2024, taking Alteryx private again. Along the way it bought Trifacta for $400 million in 2022 and ClearStory Data for $19.6 million in 2019. That matters: going private again means Alteryx now answers to its new owners' plans, not public shareholders.
