Cushman & Wakefield is a real estate services company. It helps businesses buy, lease, and manage commercial property such as offices, warehouses, and retail space. Cushman & Wakefield was founded on October 31, 1917, by J. Clydesdale Cushman and Bernard Wakefield, who were brothers-in-law. It merged with DTZ in 2015, and an investor group led by TPG, PAG, and Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan now owns the majority stake. It has also traded as a public company on the NYSE under the ticker CWK since August 2, 2018. In 2023 it had about 52,000 employees and $9.49 billion in revenue. That is a long way from a firm started by two brothers-in-law in 1917.
