DHL is a global courier and logistics company. It delivers express mail and parcels for businesses and individuals around the world. DHL also manages supply chains, helping companies move goods and stock warehouses. The company is based in Bonn, Germany.
Adrian Dalsey, Larry Hillblom and Robert Lynn founded DHL in 1969 in San Francisco. Deutsche Post took full ownership of DHL by December 2002. DHL then grew through big purchases: Airborne Express in 2003, Blue Dart Aviation in 2004, and Exel plc in 2005. By 2025 DHL employed 580,580 people, and in 2024 it made €84.186 billion in revenue. That deal turned a small courier startup founded by three people into part of Germany's national mail service.
Currently, there's a total of 8,076 job openings at DHL. Over the last 30 days, 10,835 jobs were added and 3,111 were removed (job postings usually stay up ~6 days before being removed). Historically, the median salary is ~$117,500.1
