Eve Air Mobility designs electric aircraft that take off and land like a helicopter, called eVTOL, for use in cities. Its main product is the EVE, an aircraft built to carry four passengers and one pilot with a 60-mile range. Eve also develops ground and airspace infrastructure for this kind of urban air travel. Eve Air Mobility is based in São José dos Campos, Brazil.
Eve Air Mobility was founded on October 15, 2020, after the concept was first shown to the public in 2018. It is a subsidiary of Embraer, the Brazilian aerospace maker, which held a 90% stake as of November 2023; the rest is held by United Airlines, SkyWest, Republic Airlines, and Rolls-Royce. As of March 2024, Embraer had signed contracts for 2,850 eVTOL orders worth about $8 billion from 30 customers in 13 countries.
