Everest Group was established in 1973 as Prudential Reinsurance, a subsidiary of Prudential Financial. It completed its IPO on October 6, 1995, and was renamed Everest Re in 1996, after Mount Everest. The company trades on the NYSE under ticker symbol EG. It reported revenue of $17.5 billion and net income of $1.59 billion, with total assets of $62.5 billion, and had approximately 2,428 employees as of February 2023.
