Intermountain Healthcare operates hospitals and clinics that provide primary care, children's health, women's health, and senior care. Its patients are people across the Salt Lake City region seeking everyday and specialized medical treatment. The company is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints founded the system on April 1, 1975, by donating fifteen hospitals. In 2022, Intermountain merged with Colorado-based SCL Health to expand into a new state. Today it employs about 68,000 people and runs 33 hospitals and 385 clinics. The system has grown through mergers as well as by building new hospitals and clinics.
