Qt was created in 1991 by Haavard Nord and Eirik Chambe-Eng under the name Trolltech, and first released to the public in 1995. Nokia bought Trolltech in 2008. Digia acquired the Qt framework from Nokia in 2012. Qt is now developed by The Qt Company, which is publicly listed.
