Rappi was founded in 2015 in Bogotá, Colombia, by Simón Borrero, Felipe Villamarín, Sebastián Mejía, and Juan Pablo Ortega. As of 2024, Rappi has 5,200 employees and works with 350,000 couriers, and made about $800 million in revenue in 2023. A food delivery app has also become a financial company, offering banking inside the same app.
