Renesas
Hiring · 1,020 open jobsGeneral information
Renesas makes microcontrollers and other electronic components, based in Tokyo, Japan. Its microcontrollers include 32-bit ARM Cortex chips and low-power options for small devices. It also makes power management parts, such as GaN transistors and AC/DC converters. These parts go into a wide range of electronic products made by other companies.
Renesas Electronics began operations in April 2010, formed by a merger of NEC Electronics and Renesas Technology. As of 2025, it employs 21,629 people and reported revenue of ¥1.321 trillion. That merger explains its scale today: two separate chip makers became one company.1
