Renesas

Renesas makes microcontrollers and other electronic components, based in Tokyo, Japan. Its microcontrollers include 32-bit ARM Cortex chips and low-power options for small devices. It also makes power management parts, such as GaN transistors and AC/DC converters. These parts go into a wide range of electronic products made by other companies.

Renesas Electronics began operations in April 2010, formed by a merger of NEC Electronics and Renesas Technology. As of 2025, it employs 21,629 people and reported revenue of ¥1.321 trillion. That merger explains its scale today: two separate chip makers became one company.

Currently, there's a total of 922 job openings at Renesas. Over the last 30 days, 805 jobs were added and 487 were removed (job postings usually stay up ~5 days before being removed).¹
