SMEC
Hiring · 286 open jobsGeneral information
SMEC is an engineering and consulting firm working on infrastructure and development projects. Its transport work covers roads, bridges, highways, rail, metro and aviation infrastructure. In energy, it works on solar, wind, hydropower and green hydrogen projects. Its water division handles water supply, wastewater management, irrigation and stormwater systems. SMEC is based in North Sydney, Australia.
SMEC began in 1970 as the Snowy Mountains Engineering Corporation, set up by the Government of Australia to sell the expertise built on the Snowy Mountains Scheme. Singapore's Surbana Jurong bought the firm in 2016 for about 400 million dollars. That ownership matters: SMEC now operates as part of a much larger Singapore-based engineering group, with around 5,000 employees worldwide as of 2022.
Currently, there's a total of 268 job openings at SMEC. Over the last 30 days, 205 jobs were added and 290 were removed (job postings usually stay up ~22 days before being removed).1
