Halma started in 1894 as a tea estate in Sri Lanka, called The Nahalma Tea Estate Company Limited. It became an investment holding company in 1956, then began buying engineering firms in the 1970s. Halma is now public on the London Stock Exchange and part of the FTSE 100. It employs 8,000 people and made £2,582.3 million in revenue in 2026. A tea company turned into a safety equipment group.
